Where the tools are ground and inspected

DELEVEL tools are ground on CNC tool-grinding machines, measured, and inspected before they ship. The photos and footage on this page were taken on the production floor.

GRINDING

Ground from solid carbide rod

Drills, end mills, reamers and form tools are ground from solid carbide rod on CNC tool grinders. Standard geometries run from stored programs; custom tools are programmed from the approved drawing.

PROGRAMMING

Custom tools start as a program

For made-to-drawing tooling, the profile, flute and point geometry are set up at the machine from the drawing the customer has approved. Nothing is ground before the drawing is confirmed.

INSPECTION

Measured before it ships

Diameters, lengths and profiles are checked on tool measuring equipment. Small-diameter drills are inspected under optical magnification. Inspection rates by order size are listed on the Quality page.
